The 8 Hour Skill Bonus is a consumable skill boost item that provides a single character with a 20 percent increase in the amount of skill points and bridge officer skill points gained during play for a period of eight hours. Once acquired the item will remain unconsumed until activated, at which point the timer begins. If the character logs off while the skill boost item is active, the timer will pause.
Only one skill bonus can be active at a time, to activate another bonus, you must wait for the currently active timer to expire.
Mission Reward[]
During the week of Star Trek Online's one year anniversary, a unique Bind on Pickup version of this item was given out (along with the [Explosive Party Popper]) to players for meeting Q in Club 47 on Earth Spacedock or in The Great Hall of Qo'noS and answering 5 Star Trek trivia questions correctly as part of the mission “It's Q's Party”.
