Ability: Inspiration Abilities

Overview

Inspiration is a built-in Starship Mechanic only available to players using Command starships. Whenever you activate a bridge officer ability, you generate inspiration; any non-Command ability generates ~3% Inspiration, whilst any Command ability generates ~6% Inspiration. When the meter is full one of three abilities can be used.

Once an Inspiration ability has been used, it is locked out for a short period and cannot be reused until it comes off cooldown, even if the Inspiration bar is fully recharged.

• Game Description:
• Build Inspiration when you use Bridge Officer abilities while in combat. Command Bridge Officer abilities generate double Inspiration.
• Once your Inspiration meter is full, you can use an Inspiration ability. Once used, your Inspiration meter is reset to 0 and you will be unable to generate Inspiration for a short time.

Abilities

When the inspiration meter is full, Command ships can use one of the three Ability: Inspiration Abilities on this target. These powerful abilities buff you and your teammates.

Turn the Tide

While active, you and your teammates will regenerate hull very quickly and have their damage resistances increased substantially. Activating this ability requires a full bar of Inspiration. Multiple stacks of this ability will extend the duration instead of stacking the potency of this effect.

Against All Odds

While active, you and your teammates will gain a substantial bonus to damage as well as a massive reduction in weapon power cost. Activating this ability requires a full bar of Inspiration. Multiple stacks of this ability will extend the duration instead of stacking the potency of this effect.

Battle Preparation

When activated, you and your teammates' Bridge Officer abilities will receive a massive reduction in remaining charge time. This will cause most abilities to immediately fully recharge or very nearly fully recharge. Activating this ability requires a full bar of Inspiration, has a longer recharge time than other Inspiration abilities, and once affected by this ability, you can neither use nor be affected by this ability for a period of time.

Notes

• On the launch of Command ships on February 12th, 2015, Inspiration was also generated by bridge officer abilities used by your teammates. On Feburary 19th Inspiration generation was tweaked, but due to team Inspiration generation having an unexpected impact on server performance, this was disabled with the May 14th, 2015 patch, which increased Inspiration generation to compensate.
