Ability: Obfuscation Screen

Overview

Obfuscation Screen is a tactic first utilized by the crew of U.S.S. Shenzhou. Activating the Obfuscation Screen powers down most of the systems on player's ship, thus convincing enemy vessels that it has been disabled and no longer represents a threat. Player can use this lull in battle to heal as well as gain an advantage over foes as powering up the ship gives a huge boost to weapons damage. This space ability is generated by the [Console - Universal - Obfuscation Screen], which is obtained with the Walker-class Light Exploration Cruiser.

• Game Description: An old ruse but still useful even in modern combat scenarios. By convincing enemy sensors that your ship has been disabled, you can remove your ship as a valid combat target temporarily. While this is active, you will be unable to move or activate abilities, but the ship will rapidly regenerate Hull and Shields. Upon expiring, you can use the sudden return to activity to your advantage, gaining a massive damage bonus to a duration equivalent to the amount of time you remained disabled.
  
  The maximum duration of this mode is 20 seconds, but you may manually deactivate it at any time after 3 seconds have passed.
