Game Description: Named after William T. Riker, Commander of the U.S.S. Enterprise-E. When engaged with 2 Son'a battle cruisers in the Briar Patch, Commander Riker used the ship's Ram Scoops to collect Metreon Gas and then ejected the gas between the Enterprise and the Son'a. The Son'a's own weapon fire ignited the gas destroying one Son'a ship and disabling another. History remembered this tactic as the Riker Maneuver.

Metreon Gas can be vented from ship's ramscoops resulting in a large trail of Metreon Gas. Any ships that pass through the gas will have their Impulse speed severely slowed. At any time, player can manually ignite the Metreon Gas which will result in a chain reaction massive explosion, dealing plasma damage to any foe in or near the gas cloud. The Metreon Gas is extremely volatile, and any enemy ship that fires a weapon while in the gas might ignite the gas. Also, the gas will detonate if an enemy activated an AoE attack near the cloud. The cloud will also detonate on its own after 60 seconds.

Exotic Particle Generator can increase the damage of the ignited Metreon Gas, while Control Expertise increases how much the gas will slow a target.
