Sensor Scan is a space ability that is available to Science players when they reach Lt. grade 8 rank. It reduces the damage resistances and stealth of the target and nearby hostile ships while increasing your perception, making it easier to detect enemies.

The amount of damage resistance debuff depends on the ability rank and the player's current Auxiliary power level.

The amount of stealth debuff and StealthSight buff depends on the player's Starship Sensors skill. The skill numbers given below are specifically for Sensor Scan III, since any players who can spend points in the skill already have rank 3 of the ability.
Formula for Stealth Debuff
- Debuff = base * ((Skill / 100) + 1)
- Rank I = 150 * ((Skill / 100) + 1)
- Rank II = 200 * ((Skill / 100) + 1)
- Rank III = 250 * ((Skill / 100) + 1)
Formula for StealthSight Buff
- Buff = base * ((Skill / 100) + 1)
- Rank I = 1.5 * ((Skill / 100) + 1)
