This ability triggers a salvo of photon torpedoes, firing six torpedoes each at up to eight targets within 10km, dealing 1,318 kinetic damage (base) per torpedo. It has a lengthy cooldown of 3 minutes, but if timed correctly can be a devastating ability.
This ability requires no specific weapon to be fitted to the ship, only that the Torpedo Point Defense System Universal Console be applied to one of the ship's console slots. The console (and ability) come as part of the Heavy Escort Carrier class of ship which can be purchased from the C-Store.

- Game Description: Activates an automated Torpedo Point Defense System. This system fires six volleys. Each volley automatically targets up to 8 nearby enemies randomly and assaults them with a furious barrage of up to 48 Photon Torpedoes. The Torpedo Point Defense System provides 360 degree defense, so it is not limited to the standard 90 degree firing arc of most torpedoes. Normal ship operations, including standard weapon systems, can continue while the Point Defense System is active, and the system can be deactivated early if desired.
