The Ar'kif-class Tactical Carrier Warbird Retrofit is a Tier 5 (Level 50) Tactical Carrier Warbird which may be flown by Romulan Republic characters, as well as characters of any other faction. All faction restrictions of this starship can be removed by having a level 65 KDF character or by purchasing the Cross Faction Flying unlock from the Zen Store.

Players can obtain this starship from the Zen Store for 2,000 .

Purchasing this starship will unlock a Fleet Ship Module discount when purchasing the Fleet Ar'kif Tactical Carrier Warbird Retrofit.

Overview

Although the Romulan Republic's fleet was launched with repurposed ships from the Romulan Star Empire, Republic leaders quickly saw the need to design their own starships. One of the first ship designs to come out of the New Romulus Shipyards was the Ar'kif-class Tactical Warbird.

The Ar'kif-class Tactical Carrier Warbird is the retrofit version of the Tactical Warbird designed for Vice Admirals looking for a ship with a sleek design and a lot of firepower. It takes many of its design cues from the existing Escorts, Raptors, and Destroyers of Romulan allies. These ships focus on maneuverability and overwhelming firepower.

Ships of this class are smaller and more agile than the D’deridex class – more similar in size to Starfleet's Akira class. With most of its weapons in the front, the design of the Tactical Warbird emphasizes forward aggressiveness with hawk-like, forward swept wings that flow smoothly into the front of the ships. It also has prominent weapon pods designed to accommodate Plasma Quad Cannons, as well as a forward beam emitter to fire the Focused Singularity Beam.

Ar'kif class	SKIN UNLOCK: Free The Ar'kif class shares design principles with newer Romulan ships, such as a more evenly-spaced double-wing design, slightly downward-slanted wings, and a more rounded "head" section. The trailing edges of the wings are corrugated to show a "feathered" silhouette.
Ar'kala class	SKIN UNLOCK: Ar'kala Tactical Warbird, 150,000 The Ar'kala class showcases elements present in other refits: silver-colored armor plating, smoother and more prominent wing design, and more prominent warp nacelles. The ship lacks "feathered" silhouette along its wings' rear edges. Its forward deflector array is also more visible.
Jhu'ael class	SKIN UNLOCK: Jhu'ael Tactical Carrier Warbird, 3,000 Outfitted for battle, the Jhu'ael class looks much more aggressive and sharp-edged than its predecessor. The Jhu'ael has prominent weapon pods designed to accommodate Plasma Quad Cannons, as well as a forward beam emitter to fire the Focused Singularity Beam.

Abilities

Universal consoles

In Annihilation Mode, vessel's Shield power is rerouted to Weapons and Singularity.

While in Annihilation Mode, the ship can fire a Focused Singularity Beam draining energy from the Singularity.

The Ar'kif Tactical Carrier Warbird Retrofit comes equipped with the [Console - Universal - Focused Singularity Modulator].

• Annihilation Mode

Activating Annihilation Mode increases ship's Weapon power and Singularity gain rate as well as enables potent Focused Singularity Beam.

• Focused Singularity Beam

This ability is part of the Enhanced Plasma Infusion Set, which also includes [Plasma Quad Cannons [Dmg]x3] and [Console - Universal - Destabilized Tachyon Emitters] obtainable with Ar'kala Tactical Warbird (T4) and Jhu'ael Tactical Carrier Warbird (T6), but also equippable on the Ar'kif Tactical Carrier Warbird Retrofit. For each console added after the first, an additional passive bonus is unlocked.

Battle Cloak

The Ar'kif-class Tactical Carrier Warbird Retrofit has a battle cloak that allows the ship to cloak during combat, granting stealth and a damage bonus upon decloaking.

Experimental Weapon

The Ar'kif-class Tactical Carrier Warbird Retrofit comes with an Experimental Weapon slot. This additional slot does not fit standard weapons. Unlike standard starship weapons, Experimental weapons are not affected by weapon firing modes, such as those granted by bridge officer abilities.

Hangar bay

The Ar'kif Tactical Carrier Warbird Retrofit comes equipped with a single wing of Scorpion Fighters.

Singularity

By using an [Experimental Ship Upgrade Token], the Ar'kif-class Tactical Carrier Warbird Retrofit may be upgraded to T5-X, unlocking an extra ship device slot, universal console slot, and the ability to slot an extra starship trait.

Note that upgrading the Fleet Ar'kif Tactical Carrier Warbird Retrofit, the fleet version of the Ar'kif Tactical Carrier Warbird Retrofit, will not apply the upgrade to this starship.
