About a month after Cryptic Studios announced that they had acquired the rights to produce a Star Trek MMO, they posted their first developer Q&A entitled: Ask Cryptic. Prior to the game's launch, these Ask Cryptic posts were the primary source of information about game details. After launch, the frequency of the Ask Cryptic posts decreased as they started to communicate more often via forum posts, Engineering reports, and later, Developer Blogs.
In June 2013, the Ask Cryptic feature was discontinued in favor of a new monthly Dev Blog. [1]
