'''Data Sample Analysis''' is a broad term for four different [[duty officer]] [[assignments]] which can be obtained from the [[Engineering Lab]] [[Science Officer]] onboard your ship.  When talking to the Science Officer, they are found by asking him about "Special Projects" then choosing "Data Sample Analysis".  

There are four distinct assignments.  Three of them require 120 units of commonly-discoverable [[data sample]]s found both in space and ground missions.  These samples are typically used by players to [[crafting|craft]], but can be used here for rapid advancement in the [[commendation: Science|science]] and [[Commendation: Exploration|exploration]] [[commendation]] tracks.  

These assignments are:
