- The Damar is likely named for Legate Damar, a Cardassian officer who defected from the Dominion and started a rebellion against them during the Dominion War and was killed in battle trying to liberate Cardassia Prime.
- The Damar is the first named Cardassian vessel in the game not under the control of the True Way.
