The Galaxy at Large

The Galaxy at Large consists of five story arcs. These story arcs are considered side content, but contain some important elements necessary to understanding the storyline of Star Trek Online.

Spectres

• not exactly necessary for the overall plot, but the Spectres arc is a nice mix of both TOS and TNG story elements; a mysterious time-travel story that takes you back to the 23rd century and gives you a chance to meet some members of the original crew of the Enterprise
• Tangentially relates to the 23c. Starfleet tutorial, where Bones and Scotty mention seeing you before.

Wasteland

• introduction to the Elachi, primary antagonists for Romulan characters
• sets up the events which transpire in the Romulan Mystery episode arc

Lost Dominion

• first appearance of the U.S.S. Enterprise F, flagship of the Federation fleet in 2409
• release of the Female Changeling from the Federation penal facility.
• first appearance of Captain Kurland

Cold War

• discovery of the Preserver library on Lae'nas III (necessary for the Iconian War plot)
• a better look at the Deferi culture

Kobali Crisis

• revelation of the Vaadwaur motive behind the attack on Kobali Prime
• sets up the events which transpire in “Dust to Dust”
