Console - Universal - Alpha Deception Field is obtained by the players of all factions from the [Hirogen Lock Box] and [Infinity Prize Pack: Cross-Faction or Salvaged Console]. This console can be equipped on any ship and can be put into any console slot. Player may only equip one of these consoles.
Game Description[]
Hirogen hunters have been known to lure unsuspecting vessels into ambushes utilizing false sensor readings and holographic overlays that make a dangerous trap appear to be valuable salvage. Some versions of this ruse also include faking the destruction of the Hirogen vessel. Pulling off a clever and complicated deception of this nature requires a complex set of integrated tools and technology that are difficult to get working in unison, but Hirogen engineers have imagined a standalone system that contains everything required, without running the risk of a starship's other systems interfering with the process. Because this set of tools and subsystems is so isolated, it is a relatively simple task to retrofit any starship with it.

When initially released with the [Hirogen Lock Box] on January 30th, 2014, the console caused problems in PvP. Originally, the console reset the timers on player abilities as well as bridge officer abilities, allowing players to use abilities like Subnucleonic Beam, Fire on my Mark, and Attack Pattern Alpha in quick succession. This was fixed in the following patch on February 6, 2014 to just reset cooldown timers for bridge officer abilities.[1]
