The Eclipse Intel Cruiser is a Vice Admiral (Tier 6) level Federation Cruiser. Players can obtain the vessel from the C-Store for 3000 .
Description
The Eclipse Intel Cruiser is quite nimble for a starship of its class, it sacrifices little structural integrity for this benefit. it features a Cloaking Device and Active Sensor Arrays. The former allows the starship to cloak while not in combat, and the latter allows intel craft to gather information about their target to expose a vulnerability in their defenses.
Variants
Eclipse class
Designed to conduct covert missions and intelligence-gathering in hostile space, the Eclipse's basic hullform is both essentially similar to, yet dramatically different from, the classic profile of Starfleet cruisers.
In its standard configuration Eclipse bears the familiar combination of a saucer-shaped primary hull with outboard warp nacelles attached by slender pylons. However the forms of the hull, nacelles and pylons are designed to minimize the ship's visibility to enemy sensors and even the naked eye.
The saucer and nacelle shapes are flattened, with thin edges and tapered angles. Like the Heavy Cruiser, the Eclipse's secondary hull is blended with the primary saucer, housing the main deflector along the ventral surface of the saucer. Four flattened, low-profile warp nacelles attach at close angles to short pylons at the rear of the secondary hull. Weapon hardpoints are blended into the hull surface, and translucent panels on the surface of the saucer show instruments to coordinate the data relayed from the Eclipse's active sensor probes, which launch from a small bay located in the secondary hull.
The ship's default hull material (Intel) is black, with no visible windows, rendering the Eclipse difficult to see against the background of space, if not for thin, blue running light strips. Other window options and hull material selections can brighten the ship's profile and light the windows, which are mainly located along the Eclipse's secondary hull.
Abilities
Console
The Eclipse Intel Cruiser comes equipped with a [Console - Universal - Structural Integrity Field]. This devastating device drains the structural integrity fields of nearby enemy starships and overloads your own. This not only causes significant hull damage to the affected foes, but also provides your starship with additional hull strength.
Intelligence Seating
An Intelligence ship, the Eclipse is equipped with hybrid seating for:
1 Commander Engineering-Intelligence
1 Lieutenant Science-Intelligence
Starship Mastery
Earning skill points while commanding this ship will progressively unlock bonus new passive abilities.
Unlock | Bonus | Description |
---|---|---|
I | File:Absorptive Hull Plating icon.png Absorptive Hull Plating | • +25 Physical Damage Resistance Rating • +25 Kinetic Damage Resistance Rating |
II | File:Enhanced Weapon Banks icon.png Enhanced Weapon Banks | • +15% Critical Severity |
III | Enhanced Hull Plating | • +25 All Energy Damage Resistance Rating • +25 Radiation Damage Resistance Rating |
IV | Armored Hull | • +10% Hull Hitpoints |
V | Starship Trait: Battle Ready | Grants Battle Ready • To self: +7.5 All Damage Resistance Rating for 15 sec when using an Engineering or Intelligence bridge officer ability. • To self: +7.5 Defense for 15 sec when using an Engineering or Intelligence bridge officer ability. |
Starship Mastery(Starship Trait):Battle Ready
After achieving level 5 in your Eclipse Intel Cruiser’s Starship Mastery, you will unlock the Battle Ready starship trait. While this trait is slotted, each time you use an Engineering or Intelligence bridge officer ability you gain a Defense and Damage Resistance Rating buff for a short time. This buff stacks up to 3 times.
Standard configuration
Starships come with standard equipment and weapons of the lowest mark available at the ship's minimum rank. The items provided are appropriate to the type of vessel and its related playing style.
Equipment
Scaling starship
This starship's equipment slots, base hull capacity and shield capacity scale as your level increases.
Equipment slots and seating
As you rank up every 10 levels, up to level 40, the ship's forward weapon slots, aft weapon slots, tactical console slots, engineering console slots, science console slots and available bridge officer (boff) abilities will slowly increase toward endgame capabilities:
Level | Boff seats | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
0-9 | 1 | 3 | 0 | 2 | 2 | |
10-19 | 2 | 3 | 1 | 3 | 2 | |
20-29 | 2 | 4 | 1 | 3 | 3 | |
30-39 | 3 | 4 | 2 | 4 | 4 | |
40+ | 3 | 5 | 2 |
Hull strength
This table shows how the ship's hull strength scales at each level. The base hull of all scaling starships is 10,000, which is then multiplied by the ship's hull modifier (Expression error: Unexpected ( operator. for the Eclipse Intel Cruiser), and then multiplied by the scaling multiplier below at each level.
