The Experimental Anti-Borg Device is a common re-usable item that generates a variety of effects when used against borg. The device has a range of 40 meters and usually causes electrical damage between 14-16 dps for 1-5 seconds.
In addition to (or instead of) the damage, it may cause other effects on the targeted borg, including: placates, holds, fragile stuns, movement buffs and even temporarily shrink borg. Most of these effects last between 5-12 seconds.
While the results are unpredictable, it can be quite useful in STFs by increasing threat generation on tank players, when fighting bosses like Manus of Borg and the Borg Queen.

Available from Jula in the Base Camp of the Defera Invasion Zone after starting “Field Functionality Figures”, also provided by Jula.
Notes[]
- Once the “Field Functionality Figures” is completed and turned in, the device will be removed from your inventory; although dropping the mission will not remove it.
- Only Borg targeted by the device and killed on Defera count toward the mission counter. Borg killed in STFs or elsewhere do not count.
- When used, a 60 sec buff/debuff icon will appear on the borg. Since the known effects last 5-12 seconds, the details of the 60 sec effect are unknown. One possibility is that the effect acts as a signal for the game engine to progress “Field Functionality Figures” even after the actual effects of the device have expired as opposed to forcing the player to kill the targets within 5-12 seconds of using the device, which may not be possible under certain conditions. (For example, if the players are using weapons far below the zone level, really inexperienced, or using the device against multiple Borg at once.)
