Launches a level 70 Experimental Proton Charge that will seek out the nearest foe within 10km, then detonate to affect up to 3 foes:

The Experimental Proton Charge is an Experimental Weapon for starships that launches a proton charge that will automatically seek out the nearest foe within 10km, and rush toward them. Once close enough to the foe, the charge will detonate dealing heavy Proton damage in a 2km area, and reduce the Defense of foes in that area.

You may only have 6 Experimental Proton Charges in play at once, and you will be unable to fire additional shots until the existing ones have delivered their payload or timed out after 60 seconds.

It is available from the Xindi-Reptilian Sistruus Escort, and can be equipped on any starship capable of utilizing Experimental Weapons.

Gear Upgrade[]

Experimental Weapons can be upgraded using the Beam Weapons Tech Upgrades, Cannon Weapons Tech Upgrades or assorted Universal Tech Upgrades. It will receive an additional modifier on successful quality improvement:
