Release date: July 30, 2015
The Fleet Ar'kif-class Tactical Carrier Warbird is a Tier 6 Tactical Carrier Warbird which may be flown by Romulan Republic characters, as well as characters of any other faction. All faction restrictions of this starship can be removed by having a level 65 KDF character or by purchasing the Cross Faction Flying unlock from the Zen Store. This starship can be used from any level upon completion of the tutorial experience. As you level up, this ship gains additional hull, weapon slots, and console slots.
Players can obtain this starship from any Ship and Shuttle Requisitions officer for 20,000 and 5 , so long as the player's Fleet has a Tier V Shipyard and one Starbase Military Fleet Ship Provision. If the player already owns the Jhu'ael Tactical Carrier Warbird from the Zen Store, the Fleet Ship Module cost is reduced to 1.
Overview[ | ]
Although the Romulan Republic's fleet was launched with repurposed ships from the Romulan Star Empire, Republic leaders quickly saw the need to design their own starships. One of the first ship designs to come out of the New Romulus Shipyards was the Ar'kif-class Tactical Warbird.
The Tactical Warbird class of vessels takes many of their design cues from the existing Escorts, Raptors and Destroyers of their allies. The Ar'kif class has the look of classic Romulan ship designs with the firepower needed to take on the toughest opponents.
The new Jhu'ael-class actical Carrier Warbird is heavily based on the Ar'kif-class Retrofit's original designs. Built in the middle of the Iconian War, this new variant has been updated to more effectively combat the new threat of the Iconians and their Heralds.
Ships of this class are smaller and more agile than the D’deridex class – more similar in size to Starfleet's Akira class. With most of its weapons in the front, the design of the Tactical Warbird emphasizes forward aggressiveness with hawk-like, forward swept wings that flow smoothly into the front of the ships. It also has prominent weapon pods designed to accommodate Plasma Quad Cannons, as well as a forward beam emitter to fire the Focused Singularity Beam.
Federation and Klingon Empire Fleets, which Republic officers are part of, have made further upgrades to the Jhu'ael-class Tactical Carrier Warbirds. These Fleet Starships are built to the highest standard and have increased Hull Hit Points, Shield Strength and an additional Tactical Console slot. Tier 6 Fleet ships do not have a 5th Starship Mastery level and thus do not unlock a Starship Trait.

Class | Information |
---|---|
SKIN UNLOCK: Free The Ar'kif class shares design principles with newer Romulan ships, such as a more evenly-spaced double-wing design, slightly downward-slanted wings, and a more rounded "head" section. The trailing edges of the wings are corrugated to show a "feathered" silhouette. | |
SKIN UNLOCK: Ar'kala Tactical Warbird, 150,000 The Ar'kala class showcases elements present in other refits: silver-colored armor plating, smoother and more prominent wing design, and more prominent warp nacelles. The ship lacks "feathered" silhouette along its wings' rear edges. Its forward deflector array is also more visible. | |
SKIN UNLOCK: Jhu'ael Tactical Carrier Warbird, 3,000 Outfitted for battle, the Jhu'ael class looks much more aggressive and sharp-edged than its predecessor. The Jhu'ael has prominent weapon pods designed to accommodate Plasma Quad Cannons, as well as a forward beam emitter to fire the Focused Singularity Beam. |
