The Fleet Ha'apax-class Advanced Warbird (T5) is a Tier 5 (Level 50) Warbird Battlecruiser which may be flown by Romulan Republic characters, as well as characters of any other faction. All faction restrictions of this starship can be removed by having a level 65 KDF character or by purchasing the Cross Faction Flying unlock from the Zen Store.
Players can obtain this starship from any Ship and Shuttle Requisitions officer for 20,000 and 4 , so long as the player's Fleet has a Tier V Shipyard and one Starbase Military Fleet Ship Provision. If the player already owns the Haakona Advanced Warbird from the Zen Store, the Fleet Ship Module cost is reduced to 1.
The Ha'apax-class Advanced Warbird represents the latest developments in Romulan technology. Larger than even the mighty D'deridex-class Warbird, it has superior firepower and even greater hull strength. While slow to maneuver, a Ha'apax-class starship is a juggernaut on the battlefield, capable of withstanding tremendous damage while unleashing its weapons on its foes.
The Haakona class was designed based on stolen plans for the U.S.S. Prometheus, a powerful Federation Escort. Utilizing these plans, the Romulan Star Empire was able to design their own version, merging the design of the D'deridex with advanced Federation technology.
Ships of this class looks similar to the Ha'apax class on which it is based, with a similar overall design of a Bird-of-Prey in flight, with outstretched wings and a "head" section resembling a eagle's beak curving downwards, but its hull is made of a darker green material than the Ha'apax. Positioning of the ship's primary and secondary wings emphasizes the Assault and Guardian command section much more prominently and gives the ship a distinct x-shaped profile when viewed from the front or behind.
Federation and Klingon Empire Fleets, which Republic officers are part of, have made further upgrades to the Haakona class. These Fleet Starships are built to the highest standard and have increased Hull Hit Points, Shield Strength and an additional Engineering Console slot.

When compared to the older Romulan warbirds, the Ha'apax class has a much bulkier main hull with no internal space like the D'deridex class. The enormous wings arch downwards (reminiscent of the Dhelan class) to meet with the secondary wings, and the "head" looks to be patterned somewhat after a Bird-of-Prey such as an eagle. Indeed, when viewed from directly above or below, it becomes obvious that the ship's shape and design are strongly reminiscent of a Bird-of-Prey in flight.
Players can choose between two different types (Type 1 and Type 2) of Ha'apax class "hull" and "nacelle" designs.

The Ha'apax class parts are interchangeable with parts from the Ha'feh and the Ha'nom. Selecting these parts will turn the ship's Assault command section into a Ha'feh-class vessel and Guardian command section into a Ha'nom.

When compared to the Ha'apax, the Haakona class has a more ridged and segmented overall design. The ship's primary wings sweep upwards, while the wings of the Assault Warbird component sweep downwards, giving it a look of an eagle with its talons outstretched.

Based on previous Advanced Warbird designs, the Kara class shares a lot of similarities with Haakona-class Warbird. The most notable difference is the lance emitter on the front section of the ship. Unlike its predecessor, it also features a hangar bay.

The Fleet Ha'apax Advanced Warbird (T5) doesn't come equipped with any universal consoles.
However, it can equip [Console - Universal - Dual Vector Separation] and [Console - Universal - Supplemental Subsystems] which form the Romulan Maneuvering Protocol Set. These consoles are obtainable with Haakona Advanced Warbird (T5) and Kara Advanced Warbird (T6). For each console added after the first, an additional passive bonus is unlocked.
The Fleet Ha'apax-class Advanced Warbird (T5) has a battle cloak that allows the ship to cloak during combat, granting stealth and a damage bonus upon decloaking.
As a Romulan Warbird, the Fleet Ha'apax-class Advanced Warbird (T5) comes with built-in Singularity abilities. These abilities do not automatically rank up when acquiring higher tier Warbirds. These powers build in severity based on the charge built up by the ship's Singularity Core.
Romulan starships come with standard equipment and weapons of the lowest mark available at the ship's minimum rank. The items provided are appropriate to the type of vessel and its related playing style.
By using an [Experimental Ship Upgrade Token], the Fleet Ha'apax-class Advanced Warbird (T5) may be upgraded to T5-X, unlocking an extra ship device slot, universal console slot, and the ability to slot an extra starship trait.
Note that upgrading the Haakona Advanced Warbird, the standard non-fleet version of the Fleet Ha'apax Advanced Warbird (T5), will not apply the upgrade to this starship.
