Class variants
Class | Information |
---|---|
SKIN UNLOCK: Free Designed as a versatile Long Range Expeditionary Cruiser capable of accomplishing nearly any classification of mission, the Guardian-class Cruiser is an evolution of the Ambassador and Galaxy class style of starship. Entering into service in 2410 with a crew of 1100, the Guardian is a large starship, with a length of 780 meters, over 20% longer than the Galaxy class. | |
Type 2 |
SKIN UNLOCK: Free The Type 2 variant of the Guardian class is more reminiscent of 24th-century starship design, with no "bumper" on its saucer, a smooth neck, and fewer raised structures on the secondary hull. The nacelle pylons are swept back and do not form a flat deck on the secondary hull, and there is no bifurcation on the Bussard collectors or nacelles, as well as individual nacelle symmetry. It also lacks the inner nacelles. |
Terran variant |
MATERIAL UNLOCK: Mirror Guardian Cruiser The Terran Empire variant of the Guardian class is a mixture of the type 1 and 2 Federation variants, but with red Terran Empire livery (colors A6 -> A1). It utilizes the type 1 saucer, hull and inner nacelles, and the type 2 neck, stanchions and outer nacelles. |

Notes[]
- The design of the Guardian class is strongly reminiscent of production concept art of the Ambassador class, as well as the sculpture of the U.S.S. Enterprise-C seen on the wall of the Enterprise-D's briefing room in Star Trek: The Next Generation.
- The concept art of the Guardian (right) shared elements of both the Type 1 and Type 2 designs: the underside of the saucer is flatter than either of the final designs and the front has a very light bumper, the neck is similar to the Type 2, the secondary hull, nacelle pylons and outer nacelles are an intermediate design, while the deflector is round and of overall different design, and there are no inner nacelles.
- At one point in the past, the 3D holographic traffic control display of ships orbiting Earth Space Dock, located in the administration section of Earth Space Dock, near Captain Sulu, showed a Guardian-class starship, the U.S.S. Redoubt, identified as a "Long Range Expeditionary Cruiser". While the U.S.S. Redoubt is no longer shown on the holographic display, it can still be found parked in orbit of Earth Spacedock in Sol System Space.
