Hur'q Swarmer Fighters are a type of Hangar Pet for characters of any faction.

They are obtained with the purchase of any Hur'q vessel:

They can be equipped on any vessel capable of launching hangar pets. Slotted hangar pets will add a launch ability: Launch Hur'q Swarmers icon (Federation).png Launch Hur'q Swarmers.

The Chidyat Swarmer is a small, fast moving fighter used by the Hur'q. These mining vessels turned attack craft lack of any sort of defensive shielding. They pursue their targets at high velocities, aiming to overwhelming their defenses with ruthless efficiency.

Short Range Mining LasersEdit

Hur'q Swarmer Fighters utilize Short Range Mining Lasers as their equivalent of a Directed Energy Weapon, dealing Phaser damage to its targets with rapid pulses. These Mining Lasers are not to be considered conventional beam arrays, and are not affected by traits that would affect hangar weaponry such as Superior Area Denial or Coordinated Assault.

Despite visual similarities to Hur'q Phasic Harmonic space weaponry, these fighters predate the release of that weapon type.

Evasive BurstEdit

Hur'q Swarmer Fighters come equipped with a unique active ability named Evasive Burst. This is the same ability found on Jem'Hadar Vanguard Gunboats. Visually and perhaps mechanically, it appears identical to the player ability Evasive Maneuvers. It provides a brief increase to Flight Speed, Turn Rate, and Defense for the pet. For higher quality variants of this pet, the ability rank is greater, buffing the active bonuses. No player facing stats exist for this ability.

ModifiersEdit

Hangar pet performance may be affected by various factors (unless stated otherwise), all listed below.

  • Innate
    • All Hangar pets are immune to warp core breaches and have a unique version of the Strategist specialization ability "Layered Defense", known as "Layered Defenses III", which makes them immune to a single torpedo hit every 30 seconds.
    • Starships with Hangar Bays by default can use Carrier commands, a set of four abilities that issue orders to your Hangar pets.
  • Subsystem
    • Auxiliary Power level will determine the recharge rate before a Hangar pet can be launched again; if Auxiliary subsystem is knocked offline, the Hangar will not operate.
  • Skill Tree
    • Skill Nodes

      •   5 points in Engineering track: Hangar Health: Hangar pets have an additional 10% Maximum Hull Capacity.
      •   5 points in Tactical track: Hangar Weaponry: Hangar pets deal an additional 10% Damage from all sources.
  • Starship Mastery (Carriers, Flight Deck Carriers, Flight Deck Raptors)
    •   Quick Deployment: 20% recharge time reduction to launching Carrier pet crafts; +50% Rank Up XP for all Hangar Pets.
  • Duty Officers
    • Flight Deck Officer: Reduces the time to recharge Hangar Bay abilities after use.
    • Flight Deck Officer: Increases the accuracy of any carrier pet launched from your Hangar bays while they are in Intercept mode.
    • Flight Deck Officer: Increases the damage of any carrier pet launched from your Hangar bays while they are in Escort mode.
