The Dhelan-class Warbird was designed in the 23rd century in response to the Romulan Star Empire's conflicts with the Federation. The ship was larger than the T'liss-class Warbird and carried a heavier payload of weapons to give it an edge in potential conflicts against the Federation's Constitution-class vessels.
As conflicts between the Federation and the Romulan Empire diminished, the Dhelan class remained in the prototype stage, never seeing implementation in actual combat. Recently, unfinished models of the vessel have been modernized and put to use by the remnants of the Romulan people, who are utilizing any resources they can find to survive.

Deployed by the Romulan Star Empire in the late 23rd century, the Dhelan-class design was imagined as a bridge between the T'liss Light Warbird of the 23rd century and the D'deridex Warbird Battlecruiser of the 24th century.
The Dhelan class takes visual cues from the Mogai Heavy Warbird. However, this vessel is much stockier, with the main body and wings being shorter and thicker, and comes with a secondary wing that arches over the primary wing.
The Dhelan class has more customization options than most of the other Romulan Warbirds, giving the player an option to choose between three different wing configurations:

When the Romulan Republic began working on expanding its fleet, the previously forgotten Dhelan class was brought back to life and refitted.
The new Dhael class offers a much sleeker look than the Dhelan class, but features the same dual-wing configuration as its predecessor. Large silver armor plates cover the main hull and wings, and the aft engine section has been separated into two large ridges.
Players can choose between two different wing configurations:

The Hathos class is based upon highly successful designs for the Dhelan class, but designed with a Reman aesthetic in mind, giving her a more aggressive look. Hathos class also comes with Tulwar, Scimitar and Falchion material types, unlocking them for all Dhelan variants.

The Hathos-class Warbird features the following specialist seats:
- Lieutenant Commander Science/Intelligence
The Hathos-class Warbird has a battle cloak that allows the ship to cloak during combat, granting stealth and a damage bonus upon decloaking.
The Hathos-class Warbird comes with an Experimental Weapon slot. This additional slot does not fit standard weapons. Unlike standard starship weapons, Experimental weapons are not affected by weapon firing modes, such as those granted by bridge officer abilities.
The Hathos Warbird comes equipped with the [Experimental Railgun Mk X], which fires in a 360 degree arc and deals heavy kinetic damage to a single target.
As a Romulan Warbird, the Hathos-class Warbird comes with built-in Singularity abilities. These abilities do not automatically rank up when acquiring higher tier Warbirds. These powers build in severity based on the charge built up by the ship's Singularity Core.
Romulan Warbirds come with standard equipment and weapons of the lowest mark available at the ship's minimum rank. The items provided are appropriate to the type of vessel and its related playing style.
This starship's equipment slots, base hull capacity and shield capacity scale as your level increases.
Equipment slots and seating
As you rank up every 10 levels, up to level 40, the ship's forward weapon slots, aft weapon slots, tactical console slots, engineering console slots, science console slots and available bridge officer (boff) abilities will slowly increase toward endgame capabilities:
This table shows how the ship's hull strength scales at each level. The base hull of all scaling starships is 10,000, which is then multiplied by the ship's hull modifier (1.05 for the Hathos-class Warbird), and then multiplied by the scaling multiplier below at each level.

By using an [Experimental Ship Upgrade Token], the Hathos-class Warbird may be upgraded to T6-X, unlocking an extra ship device slot, universal console slot, and the ability to slot an extra starship trait.
Note that upgrading the Fleet Dhelan Warbird, the fleet version of the Hathos Warbird, will not apply the upgrade to this starship.

- "Hathos" means "tracker" in Romulan.
- While Hathos Warbird is a Dhelan-class variant, for an unknown reason [Console - Universal - Railgun Destabilizer Module] is a stand-alone console and isn't part of the Dhelan-class Console Set which consists of [Console - Universal - Singularity Inverter] and [Console - Universal - Sabotage Probe Launcher]. Both of these consoles are equippable on any Warbird, including the Hathos Warbird.
- Acquiring the Hathos Warbird unlocks the Falchion, Scimitar and Tulwar Ship Materials for all Dhelan-class variants.
