Heavy Digitizer Plasma Torpedo Launchers fire heavy projectiles that deal heavy kinetic damage in a 180° arc. Shields drastically reduce the effects of kinetic damage. They are not affected by Weapon Power.
This particular torpedo is Blue in color. It has a 2.5% chance to apply a plasma fire DoT directly to target's Hull. Note: both plasma weapon damage and proc DoT are increased with plasma damage consoles.
Obtaining[]
This weapon can be obtained as a reward from the episode “The Fujiwhara Effect”, via the [Special Equipment Pack - Digitizer Plasma Weapons]. Digitizer Plasma beam banks and beam arrays can also be obtained from this pack.
Heavy Plasma Digitizer Probe[]
The Heavy Digitizer Plasma Torpedo Launcher is an amalgam of both a Tricobalt Torpedo Launcher and a Plasma Torpedo Launcher. It possesses the projectile properties of the former, without the rifts typically associated with Tricobalt projectiles, substituting it instead for a Plasma DoT proc. It is also similar to the Omega Plasma Torpedo Launcher in that both the Heavy Digitizer Plasma Torpedo Launcher and it will fire Plasma Bolt / Probe projectiles that will vaporize targets upon death. Unlike the Omega torpedo, the Digitizer Plasma torpedo is a Wide-Angle Torpedo Launcher, does not have an ammo counter, and more closely resembles the blue projectiles as seen in Star Trek: The Motion Picture.
When fired, the Heavy Plasma Digitizer Probe will fire one single projectile that, if it hits the target, does massive damage. However, it travels much slower than a standard torpedo, and is destructable. Players and NPC ships can shoot down an incoming Heavy Torpedo, and an Automated Defense Battery console can shoot them down automatically.
The ability Torpedo: High Yield will increase the damage output of the next Digitizer Probe launch. Using the ability Torpedo: Spread will cause multiple torpedoes to be fired, up to a total equal to the level of the ability used plus one (e.g. Torpedo Spread II will fire up to 3 torpedoes). However, unlike other torpedoes, a maximum of 1 torpedo per target will be fired.

Uncommon Heavy Digitizer Plasma Torpedo Launcher has one modifier suffix, Rare will have two, Very Rare will have three, and Ultra Rare will have four. Epic adds a fifth unique modifier.

Special Crafted Modifiers: These modifiers can appear once on crafted Heavy Digitizer Plasma Torpedo Launcher of Rare quality and higher:
- Pen: All attacks with this weapon ignore 10 Armor Rating
- Snare: +5% Speed and Turn Rate when firing.
- Spr: 7.5% chance: Upgrades your next torpedo attack. Uses multiple torpedoes to attack an area of space.
- Thrust: +5% Speed and Turn Rate when firing.
Epic Modifier: All torpedo weapons upgraded to Epic quality receive:

- Although this weapon contains the title Plasma, its main damage type is Kinetic. For increasing damage resistance to plasma torpedos, players should use one of the Alloy consoles that boost damage resistance to Kinetic-based weapons, eg. [Console - Engineering - Monotanium Alloy].
- Using the following consoles will not grant any damage resistance to any torpedo hits, however it will grant some resistance to the Plasma fire damage proc.
