The Hirogen Hunter-class Heavy Escort is a Tier 5 (Level 40) Escort which may be flown by characters of any faction.

Players can obtain this starship as a ultra rare drop from the [Infinity Lock Box]; it comes in an [Infinity Prize Pack - T5 Ship] choice package, which is bound to you until a ship is chosen. It can also drop from the older [Hirogen Lock Box]. The boxed ship is not bound and so may be traded to other players or bought and sold on the Exchange for energy credits under the name [Special Requisition Pack - Hirogen Hunter Heavy Escort].

Overview

The Hirogen Hunter Heavy Escort is both agile and incredibly durable for a ship of the Escort category, and offers a wide range of tactical options when faced with unforeseen circumstances.

Looking almost like a miniature version of the Apex-class Battlecruiser, the Hunter-class shares the same worn and used appearance in its various material colors, ranging from rust brown to dark gray.

SKIN UNLOCK: Free with this starship The command section is wedge-shaped with a blunted point, separated from the cylindrical secondary hull by a rectangular "neck". The secondary hull features an illuminated belt that goes around the diameter of the hull. Four outboard pieces are also attached by pylons towards the rear of the hull. Two of the outboard pieces correspond to the warp nacelles and are protected by armored shields.

This ability is part of the Hirogen Heuristics Set, which also includes [Console - Universal - Photonic Decoy Swarm]. This console is obtainable with the Hirogen Apex Heavy Battlecruiser, but can also be equipped on the Hirogen Hunter Heavy Escort. If both consoles are equipped, an additional passive bonus will be unlocked.

Experimental Weapon

The Hirogen Hunter-class Heavy Escort comes with an Experimental Weapon slot. This additional slot does not fit standard weapons. Unlike standard starship weapons, Experimental weapons are not affected by weapon firing modes, such as those granted by bridge officer abilities.

Long Range Sensor Masking

All Hirogen Ships possess Long Range Sensor Masking. This passive ability grants the Hirogen Hunter Heavy Escort a small amount of Stealth, which will render the Hirogen craft undetectable at long range.
