Initially coming to fame in 2399, with the actions of the USS Zheng He over the planet Coppelius, the Inquiry Battlecruiser was Starfleet’s most powerful ship for many years. The initial designs and technical breakthroughs of the ship were later used as the starting point for the Avenger-class project. Engineers at Utopia Planitia felt the time was right for another update to the Avenger line, and decided to return to the classic form, and name, of the Inquiry class.
The modern Inquiry Battlecruiser, like other ships of its lineage, are aggressive ships, designed to charge into head-on confrontations and come out unscathed. To further these goals, it comes equipped with a Variable Assault Deflector Array to ensure that it can come out swinging and shrug off any retaliation. This is further tied into its Cruiser Commands, to ensure that its team is as prepared as possible to follow it in its charge. Its sturdy construction and forward-facing weapons mountings round out the package, make it an intimidating sight to be staring down at. Those on the business end of an Inquiry often find their goals rapidly aligning with the Federation’s peaceful ideals.

The Inquiry-class was utilized by Starfleet in the late 24th century. The ship design would later serve as basis for newer and more powerful Avenger and Arbiter class Battlecruisers, before being brought back into service in 2411.
Players can choose between Inquiry and Inquiry Beta warp nacelles.

The Avenger is compact, roughly the same size as a destroyer-class ship (such as the Chimera) and its hull features a thick, reinforced appearance. Visible weapon hardpoints appear around the edges of the saucer, revealing the Avenger's impressive forward armament, and the bridge is protected by two armored braces that merge with the neck, which like the design of the Odyssey class, is split into two.
The warp nacelles are blocky and rectangular in design, with optional fins for atmospheric stability. The deflector dish is heavily armored, and only exposes a small "lit" portion, unlike the larger, open dishes of other vessels. The Avenger sports few windows, and those that are present are recessed into armored niches that automatically seal up when the ship enters combat. Windows along the neck are set facing inward, to protect them from enemy fire.

The Fleet refit of the Avenger class utilizes a pair of straight pylons that place the nacelles parallel to the secondary hull, rather than curving upward as on the standard Avenger class. Players may also select the "No Fins" nacelle variant.

The Arbiter-class Battlecruiser was designed from the ground up to be durable enough to combat the Iconian threat while still being able to deliver punishing amounts of damage.

Federation starships come with standard equipment and weapons of the lowest mark available at the ship's minimum rank. The items provided are appropriate to the type of vessel and its related playing style.
This starship's equipment slots, base hull capacity and shield capacity scale as your level increases.
Equipment slots and seating

This table shows how the ship's hull strength scales at each level. The base hull of all scaling starships is 10,000, which is then multiplied by the ship's hull modifier (1.45 for the Inquiry-class Battlecruiser), and then multiplied by the scaling multiplier below at each level.
