The jahSepp are a race of sentient multidimensional fungus native to the mycelial network. They break down all matter entering the network to recycle it, although they find the yeel tree toxic.
Natively, the jahSepp exist as swarms of floating blue specs of fungi, but they often take on a friendly humanoid form to communicate with outsiders.

“Beneath the Skin”: JahSepp take on the form of Amna Patel, a Starfleet officer who died valiantly in the Federation-Klingon War in the 23rd century, to communicate with the Alliance away team sent to the Mycelial network. The jahSepp assist them in navigating throughout the network, and help integrate memories of Paul Stamets saved in the network with his hologram.
