The Kelvin Timeline D4x-class Pilot Bird-of-Prey is a Tier 6 Raider which may be flown by Klingon Defense Force characters and their allies, excluding Klingon Empire-aligned Romulan Republic characters. All faction restrictions of this starship can be removed by having a level 65 KDF character or by purchasing the Cross Faction Flying unlock from the Zen Store. This starship can be used from any level upon completion of the tutorial experience. As you level up, this ship gains additional hull, weapon slots, and console slots.
Players can obtain this starship as a ultra rare drop from the [Infinity Lock Box]; it comes in an [Infinity Prize Pack - T6 Ship] choice package, which is bound to you until a ship is chosen. It can also drop from the older [Kelvin Timeline Lock Box]. The boxed ship is not bound and so may be traded to other players or bought and sold on the Exchange for energy credits under the name [Special Requisition Pack - Kelvin Timeline D4x Pilot Bird-of-Prey [T6]], as well as under [Special Requisition Pack - Kelvin Timeline Starship [T6]]. The choice box's contents depend on the player's faction; Klingon Empire players will receive the Kelvin D4x Pilot Bird-of-Prey when opening it.
This ship could also be purchased as an account-unlock from the Zen Store as a possible choice from the Mudd's Into Darkness and Beyond Choice Pack as part of "Mudd's Market", available from June 10th, 2021 to November 24th, 2021. Like all items in the Market, the Bundle periodically goes on massive discounts (upwards of 50% during special promotional sales).
Overview[ | ]
Birds-of-Prey are small, fast and fill a variety of roles for the Empire. They can be used as scouts, raiders or patrol ships. They're vulnerable when cloaked, but their speed and maneuverability make them hard to hit. Also, the Bridge Officer spaces on a Bird-of-Prey are mostly universal, which makes them more versatile.
Pilot vessels are highly agile crafts designed to perform advanced maneuvers that can give them a deadly edge in combat. By double tapping your directional movement keys your ship will perform a maneuver in that direction.

In the midst of the confrontations currently raging across multiple eras in the primary timeline, there have also been incidents of incursions into entirely alternate realities. One such breach has resulted in many artifacts and technological oddities from another timeline getting pulled into our own. A closer examination of this timeline reveals that it is a divergent reality that split from our own as a result of a confrontation in the 23rd Century, between an unknown Romulan vessel that had been displaced from the time stream, and a Federation starship - the U.S.S. Kelvin. As a result of this temporal incursion, the entire timeline that followed those events has come to be called the "Kelvin Timeline."
Examination of the time-lost salvage taken from the Kelvin Timeline reveals that the Federation of that reality had a decidedly higher emphasis on military technologies, likely as a direct result of their overwhelming defeat at the hands of the alien vessel that invaded their space in the 23rd Century. The same has shown to be true of the Klingon and Romulan ships of that time. This emphasis on cutting-edge technology allows their starships and equipment to be comparable to starships of the early 25th Century Prime Universe, despite technically being hundreds of years old. A small group of industrious scientists have taken it upon themselves to replicate these designs, and distribute them throughout the modern era.
The Klingons of the Kelvin Timeline were inspired by the tenacious D4 fighter when they designed the D4x Pilot Bird-of-Prey. Incredibly nimble and armed for heavy combat, the D4x is a force to be reckoned with across two realities. A battle cloak adds to the threat of this fearsome vessel.

Abilities[ | ]
Universal consoles[ | ]
The Kelvin D4x Pilot Bird-of-Prey comes equipped with the [Console - Universal - Proton Charge Launcher].
This ability is part of the Alternate Timeline Set, which also includes [Console - Universal - Auxiliary Ejection Assembly] and [Console - Universal - Mining Drill Laser Emitter], obtainable from the [Console Pack - Auxiliary Ejector Assembly / Mining Drill Laser (Klingon)], and [Console - Universal - Broadside Emitter Arrays], obtainable from the Lobi Crystal Consortium Store, but also equippable on the Kelvin D4x Pilot Bird-of-Prey. For each console added after the first, an additional passive bonus is unlocked.
Specialization seating
The Kelvin Timeline D4x-class Pilot Bird-of-Prey features the following specialist seats:
- Commander Universal/Pilot
- Lieutenant Universal/Temporal Operative
Battle Cloak
The Kelvin Timeline D4x-class Pilot Bird-of-Prey has a battle cloak that allows the ship to cloak during combat, granting stealth and a damage bonus upon decloaking.
Experimental Weapon[]
The Kelvin Timeline D4x-class Pilot Bird-of-Prey comes with an Experimental Weapon slot. This additional slot does not fit standard weapons. Unlike standard starship weapons, Experimental weapons are not affected by weapon firing modes, such as those granted by bridge officer abilities.
Pilot Maneuvers
Pilot ships can perform a sudden maneuver in each horizontal direction: Forward, Backward, Left or Right. Executing each maneuver will rapidly reposition your starship while granting very brief damage immunity, but costs all available thruster fuel which takes several seconds to recover.
Raider Flanking
Frigates, Light Escorts, Raiders, and Scout Ships come with a built-in passive damage boost available when striking an enemy's rear arc. To support their high turn rate and maneuverability, standard raider flanking grants:
- +33% damage to NPC enemy when attacking rear arc.
- +11% damage to Player enemy when attacking rear arc.
Standard configuration[ | ]
Klingon starships come with standard equipment and weapons of the lowest mark available at the ship's minimum rank. The items provided are appropriate to the type of vessel and its related playing style.

Equipment slots and seating[]
As you rank up every 10 levels, up to level 40, the ship's forward weapon slots, aft weapon slots, tactical console slots, engineering console slots, science console slots and available bridge officer (boff) abilities will slowly increase toward endgame capabilities:

Hull strength[]
This table shows how the ship's hull strength scales at each level. The base hull of all scaling starships is 10,000, which is then multiplied by the ship's hull modifier (0.88 for the Kelvin Timeline D4x-class Pilot Bird-of-Prey), and then multiplied by the scaling multiplier below at each level.
