First Stage: Defend the Starbase[ | ]

Kill all of the ships surrounding the Starbase

Second Stage: Defend the Asteroid Field[ | ]

You will be informed of enemies attacking the base in the Asteroid field. 1 ship should remain at the Starbase, ready for stage 3.

Things to consider:

  • The ships that go to the Asteroid field should be fast and manoeuvrable, for stage 3.
  • The ship that remains at the Starbase will need to pull aggro and prevent it from being damaged. The Starbase cannot be healed.

Third Stage: Delay the Doomsday Device[ | ]

The ship remaining at the Starbase will now face constantly spawning waves of enemies. The Starbase cannot be healed, so all damage is permanent.

The other ships will need to collect Warp Cores from the Asteroid field, fly in front of the Doomsday Device, drop them there, and defend them until they are swallowed. Be wary of the Doomsday Device's cone attack — it has a very visible charge animation, so be ready to leave its firing arc! Every Warp Core swallowed will pause the Doomsday Device's advance towards the starbase. Warp Core Interceptors will try to destroy it before it can be swallowed by the Doomsday Device.

It can be beneficial early on to have 1 ship distracting enemies, while the other 3 focus entirely on delivering warp cores. However, as the stage progresses, the distance between the Asteroid field and the Doomsday Device becomes too wide for a single tank to cover.

Eventually, Mr Scott will tell you that the Large Warp Core is ready, starting the fourth and final stage.

Fourth Stage: Destroy the Doomsday Device[ | ]

The Starbase is now safe, and the ship protecting it can now rejoin the rest of the team. One player needs to pick up the Large Warp Core, and drop it in front of the Doomsday Device to destroy it.

You will take continuous damage while carrying the Doomsday Device, and will not be able to use Full Impulse. It will often take multiple players (dropping and picking up the Large Warp Core) to escort it to the Doomsday Device, with Warp Core Interceptors attempting to destroy it along the way.

If you fail to destroy the Doomsday Device before it reaches the end of its path, then an NPC starship will sacrifice itself to destroy the Doomsday Device instead.
