In Secrets of Nimbus, the player is assigned to investigate reports of thalaron weapon triggers in the Nimbus System. You must complete the "Galaxy at Large" mission for this to become available. This is the last mission of the Klingon War story arc. Once you have done that, the mission will appear in the "Available" tab, given by the contact Franklin Drake (Federation) or J'Mpok (Klingon). This will be available at level 17.

Synopsis[ | ]
Based on reports from Romulan Republic intelligence, the player is sent to Nimbus III. Once called the 'Planet of Galactic Peace' and failing, Nimbus is a lawless world where asking the wrong questions of the wrong people can mean death. The biggest surviving settlement on the planet is the ill-named 'Paradise City', where the player is to meet their contact to gain further information about Nimbus III and the weapons they're looking for, a man named Horace Jones...

We have a situation in the Nimbus system, <Rank>. Romulan Republic intelligence suggests that there are triggers for thalaron weapons somewhere on the planet Nimbus III. There are also increasing reports of Tal Shiar activity on the planet.
Most people steer clear of Nimbus III these days – the Orion Syndicate basically runs the planet. Obviously, though, it would be a disaster if the Tal Shiar managed to get their hands on the thalaron triggers or take control of the planet. Stopping them not only helps a planet that needs Starfleet assistance, it provides a diplomatic connection with the Romulan Republic.
I know that I can count on you to do the right thing.

<rank>, after what you've been through, I wouldn't blame you if you decided to take a leave of absence. But you seem to be recovering from the vestiges of indoctrination as well as can be expected.
I hope you're feeling better. The psychologists assure us that the nightmares and flashbacks will pass.
At the moment, we're trying to follow up on scattered intel regarding a missing chache of thalaron triggers. Our best information places them on Nimbus III. We're also getting increasing reports of Tal Shiar activity on the planet.
Naturally, we want to keep the triggers out of the hands of Hakeev and the Tal Shiar. But I'd also like to know exactly what they're doing on "the planet of galactic peace."
Nimbus III has been a derelict planet for many years now, and it has only gotten worse under the influence of the Orion Syndicate. Hassan the Undying has turned the planet into his personal fiefdom. Both Starfleet and the Klingon Defense Force have sent people to investigate, but they haven't found much.
Our operatives have been following leads provided by an itinerant trader there named Horace Jones. So far nothing's turned up. If you're feeling up to it, perhaps you'll have better luck.
