Taris
In Taris the player is authorized to enter the Romulan Neutral Zone to investigate evidence that the Hobus supernova which destroyed Romulus was a deliberate act. In the Iconia system, the truth behind the destruction of the Romulan homeworld is revealed, but many questions are left unanswered.

Starfleet Command has dedicated significant resources to evaluating the evidence you found in your survey of the Hobus system.
Frankly, our conclusions are ... disturbing.
Billions died when the supernova destroyed the Romulus homeworld. If it was deliberate, it is beyond even the most depraved acts of the Dominon.
We must find out who is responsible.
Starfleet Intelligence has decoded subspace messages that were transmitted by the Hobus base. They were sent to a planet in the Neutral Zone that is supposed to be abandoned.
Obviously, something is there.
Starfleet is authorizing you to enter the Neutral Zone and investigate this planet. If the person or persons responsible for the supernova are there, bring them back. They must stand trial for their crimes.
