The player accompanies Councilor Garak, Odo and Captain Kira in investigating the outer reaches of Dominion space, hoping to learn more about the Hur'q.
Synopsis[ | ]
The Alliance-Dominion fleet arrive in the Dosi System and find a Dominion station under attack from the Hur'q. After defeating the Hur'q they establish that both the planet and the station have been abandoned for a long time and are, essentially, worthless.
Before they move on, Kira picks up a Ferengi distress call from Karemma. Assuming it to be Quark, they move to assist, despite concerns from Odo.
On arrival in the Karemma System the player encounters a large Dominion fleet headed by the Female Changeling. She is standoffish about her fleet and her presence around Karemma, but Odo insists that they should be allowed to pass investigate the planet.
On the surface, Garak and the player attempt to locate Quark, freeing various Karemman civilians who could help. When they eventually find Quark, he is with the Karemman First Minister and Garak reveals Quark was conducting a mission for him to retrieve a valuable device that was found on Karemma just a few days prior.
Garak confronts Odo with the device, in the presence of Kira and the player, revealing that it is of Dominion origin and has a signal identical to the Hur'q. Further, Garak found a similar device on Bajor. Odo confesses that the Hur'q Signalling Devices are used by the Dominion to lure the Hur'q into attacking certain planets. He lured the Hur'q to Bajor in order to draw the Alliance into supporting the Dominion before it falls.
Despite Odo's insistence that Bajor was never truly at risk, and that he needs help getting to the bottom of secrets withheld from him, Kira is angry at him for endangering Bajor.

Notes[ | ]
- The Search was released on June 5, 2018 as part of the Victory is Life expansion.
- The player has specific dialogue options dependent on their ranking in certain commendation areas when in orbit of Dosi and Karemma.
- This mission frequently bugs out after rescuing the 3 Karemmans planetside. The quest hangs on the "Open the door" portion of the quest when one of the rescued Karemmans is supposed to open it. A workaround for this bug is to save the 3 but don't talk to them until all of them are saved and gathered near the door.
