Neral is Commander and commanding officer of the Romulan stations in the Hadrian System and the I.R.W. Makar.
Personal history[]
- Commander Neral is familiar with the legends of the Vulcan swordsmith S'harien and the Sundering.
- Neral commands multiple military installations in the Hadrian System: Stations Alpha and Beta as well as several squadrons of Mogai Escorts (including the I.R.W. Aj'rmr and the I.R.W. Makar) and Romulan Bird-of-Preys.
- He is informed about the capture and interrogation of U.S.S. Noble crewmembers. They were not brought to the Hadrian Station, instead they were sent to Cirini Prime.
- Neral endorses the Star Empire's plan to use Borg technology to upgrade their ships, praising Nero and his ship as paradigm. The Commander hopes that a fleet of Borgified ships could be used to avenge the death of the Romulans who died when Romulus was destroyed.
- In 2409, a Starfleet ship enters the Hadrian System in search for the Nobel crewmen and information on the Borg technology used by the Romulans. The ships' crew manages to destroy the I.R.W. Aj'rmr, boards the stations and captures Commander Neral, who, having been defeated in fair combat, submits to the following interrogation willingly, as required by his mnhei'sahe. After being questioned, the Commander is beamed up by the Makar, commanding her in the ensuing battle with the trespassing Starfleet vessel. Neral dies when his ship is destroyed.

- “By Any Means”: Commander Neral has to be subdued in order to question him about the Romulans' use of Borg technology. He manages to escape but is killed when the I.R.W. Makar is destroyed.
