Phaser Sniper Rifle (Dsc)s are ranged ground weapons. They fire a bolt that inflicts energy damage at a single target. They have a secondary fire mode that shoots a concentrated bolt of energy at a single target, dealing high damage with a good chance to knock back.
Discovery-era Phasers have a chance to stun the target and reduce their run speed.
These weapons can be obtained by purchasing the Age of Discovery Starter Pack, which unlocks them for all characters on your account. They can also be found by searching through the crates of Terran equipment at the base of the Pahvan transmitter in “Illusion of Communication”.
The weapon will automatically level until your captain reaches level 40 up to and including Mark IX, however Mark will not be shown in the weapon's name. Beyond that, you may upgrade the weapon to Mk X [Dmg]x2 for free, after which further upgrading is possible as for any other upgradable weapon of Mark X.

Performance[edit | edit source]
Phaser Sniper Rifle is always initially obtained as aitem with implied [Dmg]x2 that are not shown in weapon's name until it is upgraded to Mk X. Further upgrades are possible adding further modifiers, whereby will have three, and will have four. adds a fifth unique modifier.
Standard Modifiers: Can appear multiple times (e.g. [Dmg]x2, [CrtH]x3, [CrtD]x4, etc)
- Can appear only once (e.g. [DoT3], [KB3], etc.)
- DoT3: 2.5% chance: X Radiation Damage per sec for 15 sec in a 10m radius
- KB3: 5% chance: Knocks the target back +10 meters, 2.5% chance: Knocks back all foes +5 meters in a 8 meter radius
Epic Modifier: All ground weapons upgraded toquality receive:
- Dm/CrH: +X Damage, +X% Critical Chance

- Weapon Criticals: Increased Critical Chance and Critical Severity
- Weapon Penetration: Increased damage by penetrating the enemy's resistances.
