The Section 31 Intel Science Destroyer is a Tier 6 Science Destroyer which may be flown by Starfleet characters, including Federation-aligned Romulan Republic and Dominion characters. The faction restrictions of this starship can be removed by having a level 65 KDF character or by purchasing the Cross Faction Flying unlock from the Zen Store. This starship can be used from any level upon completion of the tutorial experience. As you level up, this ship gains additional hull, weapon slots, and console slots.
Players can obtain this starship as a very rare drop from the [Infinity Lock Box]; it comes in an [Infinity Prize Pack - T6 Ship] choice package, which is bound to you until a ship is chosen. It can also drop from the older [Section 31 Lock Box]. The boxed ship is not bound and so may be traded to other players or bought and sold on the Exchange for energy credits under the name [Special Requisition Pack - Section 31 Lockbox Ship Pack]. The choice box's contents depend on the player's faction; Federation players will receive the Section 31 Intel Science Destroyer when opening it.
This ship could also be purchased as an account-unlock from the Zen Store as a possible choice from the Mudd's Secret Intel Choice Pack as part of "Mudd's Market", available from December 22nd, 2021. Like all items in the Market, the Bundle periodically goes on massive discounts (upwards of 50% during special promotional sales).

When it comes to top secret organizations, few things are as they appear, and the Intel Science Destroyer is a master of deceptive appearances – provided your sensors will even pick it up. While the ship has powerful sensors and masking abilities to avoid foes, there’s more than one way to remain hidden, and it can switch to bring powerful guns to bear when the situation calls for it.

A formidable Section 31 design shrouded in secrecy. Ships of this type were smaller than contemporary Crossfield-class vessels and were constructed with a darker hull color than other Federation vessels of the era. The primary hull was triangular, similar to the 22nd century Warp Delta design used by United Earth.
These vessels were able to retract their nacelle pylons when not at warp.

The Section 31 Intel Science Destroyer comes equipped with the [Console - Universal - Enhanced Tractor Drones].
Active Sensor Arrays
As an Intelligence starship, the Section 31 Intel Science Destroyer is capable of deploying an Intel sensor drone with the Gather Intelligence ability.
While the target is Vulnerable, one of three Expose Vulnerability abilities can be used. These powerful abilities find a critical weakness in the targeted foe and allow players to briefly exploit it.
- Expose Vulnerability: Critical Systems
- Expose Vulnerability: Defenses
- Expose Vulnerability: Weapon Systems
Intelligence vessels also have a built-in passive ability which renders them undetectable at long range.
The Section 31 Intel Science Destroyer has a special type of cloak that allows the ship to "power down" and essentially run dark while not in combat, granting stealth and a damage bonus upon powering up known as Dark Mode. Dark Mode is visually unique, but functionally the same as a regular Cloak.
Science and Tactical modes
A built-in Tactical Mode ability allows the Section 31 Intel Science Destroyer to switch between a default Science Mode and Tactical Mode.
Activating the Tactical Mode transforms the starship from a typical Science Vessel into a combat-oriented Destroyer. This disables most of advanced science systems while activating additional tactical systems, and downgrades the Commander Science bridge officer station into a Lieutenant Commander, while the Lieutenant Commander Tactical station is upgraded to Commander. In Tactical mode, the ship's shield capacity will be reduced.
|Science Mode||Tactical Mode|
Tactical Mode may be deactivated at any time to return to the default Science Mode.
The Section 31 Intel Science Destroyer comes with an Experimental Weapon slot, which is only activated while in Tactical Mode. This additional slot does not fit standard weapons. Unlike standard starship weapons, Experimental weapons are not affected by weapon firing modes, such as those granted by bridge officer abilities. It comes equipped with the [Invasive Coilgun]. The Invasive Coilgun fires charged oscillating slugs, designed to penetrate deep into the target's hull. After the target has been hit enough times, the differing charges built up will collapse, shorting out the target's power systems for a short duration.
Sensor Analysis is an active toggle ability available to the Section 31 Intel Science Destroyer while it is in Science Mode. While maintaining a Sensor Lock on a target, the player gains a stacking effect that either improves the damage and power drain against an enemy, or improves any heal directed towards an ally. This effect stacks every 3 seconds, to a maximum of 6 stacks after 18 continuous seconds. To maintain the desired effect, the player must hold the sensor lock.
The Section 31 Intel Science Destroyer comes with built-in Subsystem Targeting abilities that it may use while it is in Science Mode. These built-in abilities stay at Rank I and do not automatically rank up when acquiring higher tier Science starships. They are separate from Subsystem Targeting abilities gained through Tactical Space Bridge officer abilities.
- Target Auxiliary Subsystems I
- Target Weapons Subsystems I
- Target Engines Subsystems I
- Target Shields Subsystems I
Activating a subsystem targeting ability will upgrade all energy weapons to inflict a stacking power drain on the foe's targeted subsystem for the next 10 seconds. They will also have a small chance to knock the targeted subsystem offline for a short duration.
The Section 31 Intel Science Destroyer features the following specialist seats:
Federation starships come with standard equipment and weapons of the lowest mark available at the ship's minimum rank. The items provided are appropriate to the type of vessel and its related playing style.
This starship's equipment slots, base hull capacity and shield capacity scale as your level increases.
Equipment slots and seating
As you rank up every 10 levels, up to level 40, the ship's forward weapon slots, aft weapon slots, tactical console slots, engineering console slots, science console slots and available bridge officer (boff) abilities will slowly increase toward endgame capabilities:
This table shows how the ship's hull strength scales at each level. The base hull of all scaling starships is 10,000, which is then multiplied by the ship's hull modifier (1 for the Section 31 Intel Science Destroyer), and then multiplied by the scaling multiplier below at each level.

By using an [Experimental Ship Upgrade Token], the Section 31 Intel Science Destroyer may be upgraded to T6-X, unlocking an extra ship device slot, universal console slot, and the ability to slot an extra starship trait.
