The Sehlat is a large predatory mammal native to Vulcan. For many centuries these creatures have been tamed and kept as pets by Federation citizens.
Habitat[]
Sehlats are native to the deserts of Vulcan, including the Forge. A group of these animals has also been brought to the Nopada System.
Characteristics[]

Sehlats are fierce predators that attack alone or in groups. They are not afraid to attack prey much larger than themselves, including humanoids.
Remarkable are their long, sharp fangs. Their fur most often spots a light-brown color ornamented with dark lines and patters.
Pet Sehlats[]
On Vulcan, tamed Sehlats have been kept as pets for children for several centuries. Many notable Vulcan Starfleet officers owned Sehlats in their youth, including ambassador Spock.

- “Coliseum”: Sehlats are among the creatures encountered in the Arena and are also found roaming the Nopada Desert.
Notes[]
- Sehlats have been mentioned in many Star Trek episodes. They were seen in both TAS "Yesteryear" and ENT "The Forge". In both episodes they spot a more teddy-bear-like appearance than their counterparts in Star Trek Online.
