Ship Shields are a type of starship equipment that protect your starship against energy-based attacks. There are four main types of ship shields, three of which come with their own unique advantage, as well as several special shields given as mission rewards or purchased through the reputation system:
- The [Shield Array] has balanced stats compared to the three below.
- The [Covariant Shield Array] has a 10% higher maximum capacity, but 25% slower regeneration rate.
- The [Regenerative Shield Array] has a 25% faster regeneration rate, but 10% lower maximum capacity.
- The [Resilient Shield Array] has 5% lower capacity and regeneration, but allows for 5% absorption and 5% bleedthrough, as opposed to the normal 10% bleedthrough.
Ship shield modifiers[]
Uncommon Ship Shield shields will have one modifier, Rare will have two, and Very Rare will have three, Ultra Rare will have four. All Epic Shields have [Cp/Rg] as their default fifth modifier, though this can be re-engineered into a different modifier. It is possible for shields to have the same standard modifiers more than once. The following are examples of Ship Shield modifiers:

Reputation Shields[ | ]
The following are reputation set shields, all variants of the four basic types above, with stats given for Mk XII. Each reputation track requires tier 5 to purchase shields, and each shield gives unique visual when equipped or placed in the shield cosmetic shot. Stats using an X multiplier also scale as the item increases in Mark level, shown in the table above.
Numbers taken from a level 60 character with no skill points spent, no traits slotted, no equipment but the shield, 50 shield power, and no specializations affecting item stats, in a ship with a 1x shield modifer (the Light Cruiser). Regeneration rates were 50% higher than expected, but the table is still representative of their differences relative to each other.

Note: The mission “Coliseum”, the ninth mission in the Romulan Mystery episode arc, awards a [Reman Prototype Covariant Shield Array]. While initially not part of a set, selecting to Upgrade this shield from your inventory will make it part of the Advanced set available from the Romulan Reputation system (see above), albeit at rare quality.
