Ship Shields are a type of starship equipment that protect your starship against energy-based attacks. There are five different types of ship shields, three of which come with their own unique advantage:
- The [Shield Array] has balanced stats compared to the four below.
- The [Covariant Shield Array] has a 25% higher maximum capacity, but 25% slower regeneration rate.
- The [Regenerative Shield Array] has a 25% faster regeneration rate, but 15% lower maximum capacity.
- The [Resilient Shield Array] has 5% lower capacity and regeneration, but allows for 5% absorption and 5% bleedthrough, as opposed to the normal 10% bleedthrough.
- The [Paratrinic Shield Array] is a special mission reward that gives an even larger boost in maximum capacity than the Covariant Shield Array, but at an even much lower regeneration. These are generally recommended until you reach the rank of Captain.
Ship shield modifiers
Uncommon Ship Shield shields will have one modifier, Rare will have two, and Very Rare will have three, Ultra Rare will have four. All Epic Shields have [Cp/Rg] as their default fifth modifier, though this can be re-engineered into a different modifier. It is possible for shields to have the same standard modifiers more than once. The following are examples of Ship Shield modifiers:

[Adapt] | When your shields are hit, Adaptive Shielding gains one charge, increasing your Shields' resistance to the incoming damage type by 2% for 30 seconds. Stacks up to 10 times (per damage type).
