Preceeded by Klingon War |
Followed by Cardassian Struggle |
Devastated and broken, the Romulans are united now only by their quest for revenge for a lost world.
The Romulan Mystery story arc is a chain of missions available to Starfleet and allied Dominion characters. The first half of the arc, ending with “Taris”, is exclusive to characters of these factions. The rest of the episodes form the Cloaked Intentions arc which is also available to characters of other factions and allegiances through the Klingon version of the Romulan Mystery arc and Romulan-exclusive Freedom arc.
The story arc depicts the conflict between the Federation and the Romulan Star Empire in the aftermath of the Hobus supernova and Sela's rise to power as empress. Sela has invited Federation ambassadors to negotiate a cease-fire, but peace is not what she wants. Romulan Republic claims that the Tal Shiar is kidnapping Romulan citizens, but Romulans are known for their deceptive nature. Is the Republic just another plot to fool the Federation, or is D'Tan's cause just? A visit to Virinat might yield some answers.
In midst of all this turmoil, another threat emerges. Reman Resistance is planning to use thalaron triggers, a weapon of mass destruction, to stop the Romulan oppression of the Remans once and for all.
