Woohoo! this article is now Season 6 current. And in a month they plan on releasing Season 7. lol

I think Hybrid carriers should be included in the list of carriers, if someone disagrees please make your case here before reverting.

I agree. All playable ships capable of launching carrier pets should be listed. Additionally, Escort Carrier, Flight-Deck Cruiser, etc should be either deleted or merged with this one. - Mitchz95 21:22, 12 October 2012 (UTC)

The chart does not list how many hangar bays each ship has. I think that this is important information while comparing carriers.

Sorting by Hangar Bays

This page should probably have a list of every ship that has the ability to launch hangar pets, and separate table for the 2-bay primary carriers.

Currently this relies on Template:Playableshipsbytype and there's a large amount of inconsistency (both on Wiki and by Cryptic) as to what gets the 'carrier' label, what's a flight-deck, and what has hangar bays without any mention whatsoever. Is there a way to make a modified version of the template and use 'Property:Has hangar bays' instead of 'Property:Has ship type', parsing 1 or 2 instead of 'Carrier'? That could easily separate out the main table for the 2-hanger carriers, and a separate table for the rest.

Alternately, more subcategories could be added to Playablestarshipsbytype. The various 1-bay ships have a motley array of un-typed multi-missions sci-vs and command battlecruisers. Adding more types like 'multi-mission' and 'carrier warbird' to the respective ships would give another sorting input. Applying existing tags like 'flight-deck cruiser' to any ship that fits the profile, like the command battlecruisers, would also help sorting. Though that perhaps risks adding more confusion: for example, the Jhu'ael and the T'laru are both 'carrier warbirds' by name but have 1 and 2 bays respectively, and 'dreadnought cruiser carrier' is a mouthful to add to an existing 'dreadnought cruiser' type.

There are 65 separate 1-bay ships, though, so some sorting into broad categories is probably necessary. Arkhain (talk) 04:36, 1 November 2017 (UTC)

It would be great to be able to sort ships by number of hangar slots using {{Playableshipsbytype}} template. I previously had failed attempt to add ship tier to that template - not sure if I can make it working. User:OOeyes would know more..... I modified {{Shiptypeinfo}} template to add ships with hangar slots into two categories: Category:Hangar Bay: 1 and Category:Hangar Bay: 2. Haven't created them yet in case we will name categories differently, but they list ships when clicked on...... Related to ship subcategories, some ships are hard to classify. Someone tagged Command battlecruisers as carriers because of the hangar slot, but on the other hand they have a battlecruiser mastery package which makes it hard to be precise for hybrids like this. Flight-deck cruiser have mastery package unique to that class so I wouldn't name all ship with hangar bay like that. --Damixon (talk) 13:49, 1 November 2017 (UTC)

Those templates would be perfect. Re: tags, I do agree that's hard to be precise here. Cryptic didn't label the Command BCs as flight-deck for a reason. Some method of sorting is still probably necessary for the 1-hanger ships, though, since there's like 17 science vessels, 30 cruisers, and 17 remainders. Is there a way to add more sorting lists, maybe through Property:Has_ability for Cruiser Commands to make one table for the cruisers, Sensor Analysis for another for the science ships, and maybe a Neither list for the remainder? Do you have any ideas for an easy way to sort something like hangars=0? I'd like to add a separate section for multi-mission ships on the Science Vessel page, and would like to filter out the hangar=1 ships from the main list. Arkhain (talk) 01:36, 8 November 2017 (UTC)

The lists are updated but piling 89 ships up in a stack is a bit unwieldly. It's like pages of rows. Any ideas for improving this, or is it fine as-is? Having all the info in one place is more accessible, but having separators/separate categories/separate pages might not be a bad idea, too. Arkhain (talk) 01:05, 7 November 2017 (UTC)

Making carriers the main focus is a good idea. I originally came in here with the idea that having every single hangar-bay ship on one page would be a good idea, as seen at the top of this page, but that comment's five years old and there's like ten times te number of hangar-bay ships now. I like the header, though maybe it could point to other sortable lists
