The Efficient Impulse Engine Mk IV is only available to Federation Lt.Cmdrs through an NPC mission, and only comes in a Mk IV version. It is also Bind on pickup which prevents trading or selling of the engine.
The Engine boosts your ships Weapon, Shield and Auxiliary Power levels by +5. It has a full impulse bonus of +69. While Mk X engines surpass +100 making it a much slower full impulse engine. for High level players.
Veteran players have been known to still equip the engine due to its power buffs.
