fps[]
If there's a method of showing what your fps rate is, someone may want to add it to the article. With the text currently, it's kind of hard to tell how to determine if this is an issue or not. We should be writing to the new user anyway. Chances are they're not going to know what fps is anyway. Maybe spelling that out would be a good idea as well as explaining why this is an issue.
I have to wonder also why this is an article. Sounds more like a "How to improve your experience" guide than an article since most of it is just about the fps issue. --Drmike 01:41, 10 February 2012 (UTC)
- I have to agree with Drmike. I came to the page expecting information about the HUD and maybe some tips and tricks for tweaking it since it's unwieldy and doesn't like to put things exactly where you asked it to. And what's here? Several disjointed paragraphs that kept hammering the jargon "FPS" without once explaining that they meant "frames per second", like a wiki aimed at educating people should. Fact: video for TV and movies runs at 30-31 frames per second. Higher than that is nearly impercievable, though it has a smoother feel to it. If you're up around 60 FPS and going "wow, I get a +50 spike if I close the HUD" it's not bloody important and you'll never actually SEE the change, so OF COURSE the devs treat it indifferently. Get over it. Krysee 15:33, 24 May 2012 (UTC)
- I thought this needed some work so I made an attempt to clean it up, though it still focuses too much on frame rate. --MatthewM 17:46, 24 May 2012 (UTC)
