Release date: September 13, 2022
The Terran Somerville-class Scout Ship is a Tier 6 Scout Ship which may be flown by characters of any faction. This starship can be used from any level upon completion of the tutorial experience. As you level up, this ship gains additional hull, weapon slots, and console slots.
Players can obtain this starship as a limited-time reward for participating in the "The Emperor's Will" Special Event by collecting 20 Progress Points. Once claimed from its associated event, players who earned this ship may visit the “Reclaim Rewards” store, accessible via the "Events" UI, to reclaim this starship on any character on the account.
Overview[]
This ship class was commissioned by the Terran Empire to serve a dual purpose as both a forward reconnaissance vessel, and a first-strike hit-and-run vessel. This combination of intended uses has resulted in an agile and aggressive ship that is outfitted with enough utility to handle almost any situation a modern captain may encounter, whether their approach is for the purpose of research, disruption, or destruction.

SKIN UNLOCK: Free Originally designed by IDW Publishing artist Angel Hernandez for the Star Trek Discovery Annual 2018 comic, the Hernandez-class takes inspiration from both the Shepard class and Walker class vessels created for Discovery, sharing a similar hull and deflector dish style to these vessels. The Hernandez is a 23rd century science vessel, active during the 2250s. |
![]() |
SKIN UNLOCK: Somerville Intel Science Vessel, 3,000 ![]() The Somerville-class Science Vessel is named for the U.S.S. Somerville, the ship first responsible for discovering Prototaxites stellaviatori in the 2250s. As a design for the core of Starfleet's values, the Somerville-class is equipped for exploration, scientific missions, and information gathering. However, the realities of a dangerous galaxy also require this vessel to be a combat capable vessel, and as such this vessel features powerful defensive shielding, a standard Starfleet compliment of ship weaponry, and powerful deflector dishes to literally manipulate the battlefield as needed. |

Abilities[]
Universal consoles[]
The Terran Somerville Scout Ship comes equipped with the [Console - Universal - Ionic Deflector Inversion].
Raider Flanking
Frigates, Light Escorts, Raiders, and Scout Ships come with a built-in passive damage boost available when striking an enemy's rear arc. To support their high turn rate and maneuverability, standard raider flanking grants:
- +33% damage to NPC enemy when attacking rear arc.
- +11% damage to Player enemy when attacking rear arc.
Sensor Analysis[]
Sensor Analysis is an active toggle ability. While maintaining a Sensor Lock on a target, the player gains a stacking effect that either improves the damage and power drain against an enemy, or improves any heal directed towards an ally. This effect stacks every 3 seconds, to a maximum of 6 stacks after 18 continuous seconds. To maintain the desired effect, the player must hold the sensor lock.
Subsystem Targeting[]
The Terran Somerville-class Scout Ship comes with built-in Subsystem Targeting abilities. These built-in abilities stay at Rank I and do not automatically rank up when acquiring higher tier Science starships. They are separate from Subsystem Targeting abilities gained through Tactical Space Bridge officer abilities.
Target Auxiliary Subsystems I
Target Weapons Subsystems I
Target Engines Subsystems I
Target Shields Subsystems I
Activating a subsystem targeting ability will upgrade all energy weapons to inflict a stacking power drain on the foe's targeted subsystem for the next 10 seconds. They will also have a small chance to knock the targeted subsystem offline for a short duration.

Hull strength[]
This table shows how the ship's hull strength scales at each level. The base hull of all scaling starships is 10,000, which is then multiplied by the ship's hull modifier (1.1 for the Terran Somerville-class Scout Ship), and then multiplied by the scaling multiplier below at each level.
