The Widening Gyre was a Special Event tied to the release of Season Twenty-one: House Shattered. From October 6th, 2020 to November 5th, 2020 on PC, players who participated had a chance to earn the Imperial Rift 4-piece space set by playing through the new content.
Due to issues on console, this event started late on both Xbox and Playstation:
- January 12th, 2021 - February 11th, 2021 (Playstation)
- January 14th, 2021 - February 13th, 2021 (Xbox)
Accused by Chancellor J'mpok of heinous crimes, J'Ula fights to expose the truth and rally the Great Houses to her cause, but the war has taken on a life of its own. Fed by bloodlust and ambition, fire rages across the Empire's skies. Members of the Alliance, torn between values of peace and self-determination, must join House Mo'Kai in the shadows or find themselves in the flames.
Event Progress[ | ]
To receive the reward, players had to earn 20 
(Appointment Progress) with up to 1 every 20 hours by completing the following content:

Rewards[ | ]
Accruing a total of 40 Appointment Progress allowed players to claim the grand prize of the "The Widening Gyre" Event. This reward included all of the following:
- Imperial Rift Space Set (account unlock)
- 30,000
Dilithium Ore (once per account)
After earning the grand prize, players were able to continue participating in the event for additional Dilithium Ore. See Daily Bonus Progress for more details.
Zen Buyout[ | ]
For those who were unable to play regularly or wanted the grand prize instantly, a reward buyout option was added to Zen Store for 6,000 
. The price scaled with the event progress, with every earned progress point adding a small reduction to the base price.
