Trait: Subterfuge/boff

Subterfuge is a bridge officer space trait.

This trait is only available for bridge officers.

Basic information[]

Game description: Space Trait. Increases the effectiveness of cloaking abilities and provides a minor Defense boost. Increases the effectiveness of the damage buff the ship gains after decloaking.
(Damage and Stealth effects do not stack with other Subterfuge traits - only the highest will apply)

Bridge officer traits
- Only the Defense bonus stacks with other bridge officers. This includes bridge officers with this trait or Infiltrator.
- The Ambush damage bonus from additional bridge officers with this trait do not stack.
- The Stealth bonus from additional bridge officers with this trait, Infiltrator or Pirate do not stack.
Captain traits
- The Defense bonus stacks with Elusive.
- The Ambush damage bonus stacks with Maquis Tactics.
- The Stealth bonus does not stack with the Infiltrator and Pirate player character traits.

Despite being mentioned in patch notes, Basic Subterfuge does not appear to be obtainable on any bridge officers as of this writing; Romulans and Remans obtained via level up rewards and duty officer assignments are required to have the standard version of this trait. Superior Subterfuge is only found on various special bridge officers.
If a bridge officer with standard Subterfuge is equipped, your cloak ambush buff will be named "Advanced Romulan Cloak Ambush". If they have Superior Subterfuge, it will be named "Elite Romulan Cloak Ambush".
