The Rivera subspecies of Tribble, also known as a "Golden Tribble", is available from the Zen Store for 300 (Personnel section, Tribble tab).

It is also available as a BestBuy Collector's Edition, HMV, and MicroMania preorder retail exclusive of Star Trek Online. Additionally, it was part of the Age of Discovery Spore Engineer Pack and Age of Discovery Tardigrade Wrangler Pack giveaways. If obtained from the outside source, it can be claimed via the "Promotions" tab of the Zen Store.

When petted, the Rivera gives the Federation character or bridge officer all three available Tribble buffs: damage, damage resistance, and health regeneration. Each buff lasts 60 minutes and cancels any existing damage resistance buffs.
