Tricobalt Torpedo Launchers fire projectiles that deal heavy kinetic damage in a 90° arc. Shields drastically reduce the effects of kinetic damage. They are not affected by Weapon Power.
Tricobalt Torpedo Launchers are slow to reload, and can be targeted and destroyed by foes, but deal massive damage, and can disable the target. They are AOE weapons, and will disable a target upon impact and cause a push effect.
Torpedo: High Yield and Torpedo: Spread[ | ]
Tricobalt Torpedo Launchers function differently to most other torpedoes when it comes to using Bridge Officer abilities that affect torpedo behavior.
The ability Torpedo: High Yield will increase the damage output of the next Tricobalt Device launch and also extend its maximum range. It also has a chance of creating a temporary spatial anomaly that will disable ships within a certain radius. However, the device will travel much more slowly and therefore has a greater chance of being destroyed before reaching its target.
Using the ability Torpedo: Spread will cause multiple torpedoes to be fired, up to a total equal to the level of the ability used plus one (e.g. Torpedo Spread II will fire up to 3 torpedoes). However, unlike other torpedoes, a maximum of 1 torpedo per target will be fired.

Modifiers[ | ]
Uncommon Tricobalt Torpedo Launcher has one modifier suffix, Rare will have two, Very Rare will have three, and Ultra Rare will have four. Epic adds a fifth unique modifier.
Standard Modifiers: Can appear multiple times (e.g. [Acc]x2, [CrtH]x3, [CrtD]x4 etc)
Special Crafted Modifiers: These modifiers can appear once on crafted Tricobalt Torpedo Launcher of Rare quality and higher:
- Pen: All attacks with this weapon ignore 10 Armor Rating
- Snare: +5% Speed and Turn Rate when firing.
- Spr: 7.5% chance: Upgrades your next torpedo attack. Uses multiple torpedoes to attack an area of space.
- Thrust: +5% Speed and Turn Rate when firing.
Epic Modifier: All torpedo weapons upgraded to Epic quality receive:
