The U.S.S. Khitomer is a Sovereign class Federation starship that is under attack during the Tutorial mission for the game.
You are asked by your captain (before you are given command of your ship) to open hailing frequencies to the Khitomer, and the Khitomer Emergency Medical Hologram is the only one who is able to respond. The Khitomer was damaged fighting a Borg cube in the Vega System, and the vessel was boarded by Borg drones. You transported to the vessel and helped repel the Borg invaders. (Mission: Khitomer Crisis)
