The U.S.S. McKinley is a Vanguard-class cruiser that was part of Captain Kagran's all-out assault on the Herald Sphere.

- “Broken Circle” : The McKinley is part of Alpha Wing, which stands by for the player before setting course for the Herald Sphere. Later on, she is part of a task force, along with the U.S.S. Montgomery Scott, I.K.S. T'Nek and R.R.W. Cretak, that assists the player in clearing a path to the Herald Sphere.
