NCODB/sandbox/Warp Cores are a type of starship equipment that determines a starship's maximum Warp speed, as well as granting additional skill and power bonuses.
There are two main types of Cores:
- Warp Core - Used by Federation and Klingon vessels.
- Singularity Core - Used by Romulan vessels.

Warp Cores[edit | edit source]
Warp Cores are used by Federation and Klingon vessels, as well as their allies. Warp Cores, otherwise known as Matter/Anti-Matter Warp Cores, work by mixing Matter and Anti-Matter to create energy.
These cores allow the maximum possible power level of one subsystem to be raised from 125 to 130, as well as an efficiency bonus to that subsystem.
There are three different types of Warp Cores:

Modifiers[edit | edit source]
Some Warp Cores may have additional modifiers that either increase existing bonuses or add new abilities. Unlike most other items, rarer levels of Warp Cores allow for additional bonuses that are not available at lower rarity levels.
Uncommon[edit | edit source]
- Uncommon Warp Cores give bonuses to one Engineering-based skill.

- Rare Warp Cores create a synergy bonus from one power level to another, allowing you to gain some bonus power in one subsystem based on the power level of another subsystem.

Very Rare[edit | edit source]
- Very Rare Warp Cores grant an additional "capacitor" ability. These act as a reusable Battery which adds bonus power to a single subsystem, as well as bringing an offline subsystem back online.

In addition to modifiers based on item rarity, Warp Cores over Mk X gain an additional modifier that affects Transwarp and Slipstream Drive abilities.

Singularity Core[edit | edit source]
Singularity Cores are used by exclusively by Romulan vessels. Singularity Cores work by harnessing energy from an artificially created Quantum Singularity.
These cores allow bonus power to one subsystem. The bonus increases over time while the ship is at Red Alert, granting extra power based on the charge built.
There are three different types of Singularity Cores:
