Warbird

D'deridex class, the backbone of Romulan Imperial Fleet in the 24th century.

Warbirds are a type of playable Romulan starship. Their appearances and functionality vary considerably between different classes, but their defining characteristic is their ability to use Singularity Warp Cores that grant them special abilities. In addition to this, they are all equipped with Romulan Battle Cloaks. Players of all factions can fly them.

Warbirds – the backbone of the Romulan military.

Romulan Republic's weapon of choice is Plasma.

The Romulan Star Empire has long been one of the dominant powers in the Alpha Quadrant. Boasting unparalleled cloaking technology, powerful Plasma and Disruptor weaponry, and the resourcefulness to quickly develop countermeasures for the tactics of other factions, Romulans were a key force in many conflicts since the 2150s.

Warbirds – the most iconic of Romulan vessels – have formed the backbone of the Romulan military for centuries. With the destruction of Romulus, these Warbirds have become a lasting symbol of the once mighty empire’s strength – as well as a new home for some of the many refugees in the wake of their planet’s destruction.

With an emphasis on the tactical use of potent abilities stemming from advanced Romulan technology, Romulan Warbirds are built to fight like the Romulans themselves – with a high risk and high reward style.

Romulans are masters of Cloaking technology, and all Warbirds are equipped with a Battle Cloak. In addition, Romulan and Reman racial traits also improve ship's cloaking capabilities:

• Subterfuge (available on Romulan and Reman bridge officers)

(Enhances the performance of cloaking devices and increases the damage that ships deal after lowering their Cloak)

• Romulan Operative (available on Romulan playable characters and bridge officers)

(Decreases the recharge time of cloaking devices)

All Warbirds are equipped with cloaking devices.

• Infiltrator (available on Reman playable characters and bridge officers)

(Enhances the performance of cloaking devices, increases ship's defense, as well as the duration of the Ambush damage boost received after decloaking)

Some Romulan Warbirds, such as T'varo Light Warbird Retrofit (T5), T'liss Temporal Warbird (T6) and Faeht Intel Warbird (T6), come with a built in Enhanced Battle Cloak, allowing them to fire torpedoes and launch mines while under cloak.

Similar to Klingon starships, all Warbirds can equip Dual Cannons.

Unlike Federation and Klingon Defense Force vessels, Romulan Warbirds are powered by a unique Singularity Warp Core. The Singularity Warp Core can build power as the Romulan ship engages in combat, and then utilize this power to produce one of several devastating effects on the battlefield. As an added consequence of their unique Warp Core, Warbirds create a deadly Singularity implosion when they are destroyed.

Players are given command of the T'liss Light Warbird (T1) during the Romulan tutorial.

The T'liss-class Light Warbird (T1) is the starting ship for Romulan Republic players. The ship is relatively simplistic in design, and features a unique paint scheme depicting a bird of prey on the underside.

This ship is available to Romulan Republic players from the Starship Requisition Officer for 5,000 and comes with the following:

• T'liss ship costume variant
• Aged Romulan ship material (UNLOCKS FOR ALL LIGHT WARBIRDS)

The T'varo-class Light Warbird (T1) is a T'liss-class Refit based on a design used by the Romulan Star Empire during the 22nd century.

This ship is available to Romulan Republic players from the Zen Store for 500 and comes with the following:

• Singularity Stabilizer universal console

Built-in Romulan Enhanced Battle Cloak allows high tier Light Warbirds to launch projectile weaponry while cloaked.

The T'varo-class Light Warbird Retrofit (T5) is a further improved variant intended for Republic's Vice Admirals. It is one of the quickest and most maneuverable Romulan ships available at that tier. It is tactical-oriented, but is designed to be extremely flexible to cover all profession basis.

This ship is available to Romulan Republic players from the Zen Store for 2,000 and comes with the following:

• Plasma Destabilizer universal console
• built-in Enhanced Battle Cloak
• an Experimental Weapon slot

The Fleet T'varo-class Light Warbird Retrofit (T5) is an improved variant obtainable from the player's Fleet. The ship lacks the Universal Console, but comes with an additional console slot, increased Hull Hit Points and Shield Strength. This ship also comes with the following:

• Romulan Fleet 1 ship material (UNLOCKS FOR ALL LIGHT WARBIRDS)

The Mirror Universe T'varo-class Light Warbird Retrofit (T5) is a Mirror universe Light Warbird variant. The ship has a slightly different bridge officer station layout when compared to to the Prime universe Retrofit counterpart - instead of Lt. Cmdr Universal and Ensign Tactical, it comes with Lt. Cmdr Tactical and Ensign Engineering.

This ship is available to Romulan Republic players as a rare drop from the [Xindi-Amphibious Lock Box] or the [Infinity Lock Box] and comes with the following:

• an Experimental Weapon slot
• Mirror ship material (UNLOCKS FOR ALL LIGHT WARBIRDS)
